Television formats are undergoing a redefinition of the audiovisual panorama marked by digitisation and the decrease in audiences. In this context, news coverage at times of special interest is an opportunity to regain relevance, and for this reason the morning magazine programmes are taking on the broadcasting of currently prevalent news, intervening in subjects traditionally reserved for news programmes. This paper analyses the news content of TV magazines in a context of hybridisation of genres that has blurred the acknowledged boundaries between the definitions of television programmes. To achieve this, we study the topics on the agenda and how the news is dealt with that is included in the two leading formats among the private and public channels with the biggest audiences in Spain: Espejo Público on Antena 3 and Mañaneros on Televisión Española. The results show that there is a process we call “news osmosis”, whereby the news is treated in a spectacular way, yet incorporating the language and aesthetics typical of the formality of news programmes. In this adaptation, the magazines impose themselves on the narration of the news scoop while restricting the thematic agenda, leaning towards a kind of reductionism in which the private channels choose to prioritise political conflict while the public channels concentrate on current incidents, understood here as newsworthy events of public interest (crimes or accidents) Full article

The complex system of high-entropy materials makes it challenging to reveal the specific function of each site for oxygen evolution reaction (OER). Here, with nickel foam (NF) as the substrate, FeCoNiCrMo/NF is designed to be prepared by metal–organic frameworks (MOF) as a precursor under an argon atmosphere. XRD analysis confirms that it retains a partial MOF crystal structure (characteristic peak at 2θ = 11.8°) with amorphous carbon (peaks at 22° and 48°). SEM-EDS mapping and XPS demonstrate uniform distribution of Fe, Co, Ni, Cr, and Mo with a molar ratio of 27:24:30:11:9. Electrochemical test results show that FeCoNiCrMo/NF has excellent OER characteristics compared with other reference prepared samples. FeCoNiCrMo/NF has an overpotential of 285 mV at 100 mA cm−2 and performs continuously for 100 h without significant decline. The OER mechanism of FeCoNiCrMo/NF further reveal that Co and Ni are true active sites, and the dissolution of Cr and Mo promote the conversion of active sites into MOOH following the lattice oxygen mechanism (LOM). The precipitation–dissolution equilibrium of Fe also plays an important role in the OER process. The study of different reaction sites in complex systems points the way to designing efficient and robust catalysts. Full article

Upscaling Soil Salinization in Keriya Oasis Using Bayesian Belief Networks

Soil salinization in oasis areas of arid regions is recognized as a dynamic and multifaceted environmental threat influenced by both natural processes and human activities. In this study, 13 spatiotemporal predictors derived from field surveys and remote sensing are utilized to construct a spatial probabilistic model of salinization. A Bayesian Belief Network is integrated with spline interpolation in ArcGIS to map the likelihood of salinization, while Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) is applied to analyze the interactions among multiple drivers. The test results of this model indicate that its average sensitivity exceeds 80%, confirming its robustness. Salinization risk is categorized into degradation (35–79% probability), stability (0–58%), and improvement (0–48%) classes. Notably, 58.27% of the 1836.28 km2 Keriya Oasis is found to have a 50–79% chance of degradation, whereas only 1.41% (25.91 km2) exceeds a 50% probability of remaining stable, and improvement probabilities are never observed to surpass 50%. Slope gradient and soil organic matter are identified by PLS-SEM as the strongest positive drivers of degradation, while higher population density and coarser soil textures are found to counteract this process. Spatially explicit probability maps are generated to provide critical spatiotemporal insights for sustainable oasis management, revealing the complex controls and limited recovery potential of soil salinization. CareCoach seeks to enhance self-efficacy in family caregivers of people living with dementia and has been feasibility tested in a multicentre randomised controlled trial. The intervention offers two face-to-face sessions with a trained coach and access to an online platform with nine modules. This paper reports findings from an embedded qualitative process evaluation assessing implementation from the implementer’s (‘coach’s’) (n = 8) perspective using individual interviews and implementer group discussions. Qualitative data were transcribed verbatim, inductively coded and analysed using Normalisation Process Theory. Implementers demonstrated (1) ‘Coherence’ by seeking to understand how CareCoach compared to current practice, highlighting the importance of supporting coaches to differentiate and identify boundaries between their new ‘coach role’ and usual practice; (2) ‘Cognitive Participation’ by reviewing training and resources to understand their role own responsibilities and facilitate delivery of coaching sessions; group supervision and peer support were also emphasised; (3) ‘Collective Action’ through interactions with carers to deliver key behavioural aspects such as goal setting, problem solving, and providing feedback; and (4) ‘Reflexive Monitoring’ by appraising the intervention to gain useful insights that could facilitate refinement of CareCoach training and delivery. This study provides a theoretically informed understanding of the implementation of CareCoach for caregivers of people living with dementia and provides recommendations to enhance training for coaches, intervention delivery and carer engagement. The interaction between bacteria and fungi is one of the key interactions of microbial ecology, including mutualism, antagonism, and competition, which profoundly affects the balance and functions of animal microbial ecosystems. This article reviews the interactive dynamics of bacteria and fungi in more concerned microenvironments in animals, such as gut, rumen, and skin. Moreover, we summarize the molecular mechanisms and ecological functions of the interaction between bacteria and fungi. Three major bacterial–fungal interactions (mutualism, antagonism, and competition) are deeply discussed. Understanding of the interactions between bacteria and fungi allows us to understand, modulate, and maintain the community structure and functions. Furthermore, this summarization will provide a comprehensive perspective on animal production and veterinary medicine, as well as guide future research directions. Full article

Persistent Inflammation, Maladaptive Remodeling, and Fibrosis in the Kidney Following Long COVID-like MHV-1 Mouse Model

Background: Accumulating evidence indicates that SARS-CoV-2 infection results in long-term multiorgan complications, with the kidney being a primary target. This study aimed to characterize the long-term transcriptomic changes in the kidney following coronavirus infection using a murine model of MHV-1-induced SARS-like illness and to evaluate the therapeutic efficacy of SPIKENET (SPK). Methods: A/J mice were infected with MHV-1. Renal tissues were collected and subjected to immunofluorescence analysis and Next Generation RNA Sequencing to identify differentially expressed genes associated with acute and chronic infection. Bioinformatic analyses, including PCA, volcano plots, and GO/KEGG pathway enrichment, were performed. A separate cohort received SPK treatment, and comparative transcriptomic profiling was conducted. Gene expression profile was further confirmed using real-time PCR. Results: Acute infection showed the upregulation of genes involved in inflammation and fibrosis. Long-term MHV-1 infection led to the sustained upregulation of genes involved in muscle regeneration, cytoskeletal remodeling, and fibrotic responses. Notably, both expression and variability of SLC22 and SLC22A8, key proximal tubule transporters, were reduced, suggesting a loss of segment-specific identity. Further, SLC12A1, a critical regulator of sodium reabsorption and blood pressure, was downregulated and is associated with the onset of polyuria and hydronephrosis. SLC transporters exhibited expression patterns consistent with tubular dysfunction and inflammation. These findings suggest aberrant activation of myogenic pathways and structural proteins in renal tissues, consistent with a pro-fibrotic phenotype. In contrast, SPK treatment reversed the expression of most genes, thereby restoring the gene profiles to those observed in control mice. Conclusions: MHV-1-induced long COVID is associated with persistent transcriptional reprogramming in the kidney, indicative of chronic inflammation, cytoskeletal dysregulation, and fibrogenesis. SPK demonstrates robust therapeutic potential by normalizing these molecular signatures and preventing long-term renal damage. These findings underscore the relevance of the MHV-1 model and support further investigation of SPK as a candidate therapy for COVID-19-associated renal sequelae. Full article

Mixing enthalpy (ΔHmix), mixing entropy (ΔSmix), atomic-size difference (δ), and valence electron concentration (VEC) are the indicators determining the phase structures of multi-principal element alloys. Exploring the relationships between the structures and properties of multi-principal element films is a fundamental study. TiZrHf films with a ΔHmix of 0.00 kJ/mol, ΔSmix of 9.11 J/mol·K (1.10R), δ of 3.79%, and VEC of 4.00 formed a hexagonal close-packed (HCP) solid solution. Exploring the characterization of TiZrHf films after solving Ta, Y, and Cr atoms with distinct atomic radii is crucial for realizing multi-principal element alloys. This study fabricated TiZrHf, TiZrHfTa, TiZrHfY, and TiZrHfCr films through co-sputtering. The results indicated that TiZrHfTa films formed a single body-centered cubic (BCC) solid solution. In contrast, TiZrHfY films formed a single HCP solid solution, and TiZrHfCr films formed a nanocrystalline BCC solid solution. The crystallization of TiZrHf(Ta, Y, Cr) films and the four indicators mentioned above for multi-principal element alloy structures were correlated. The mechanical properties and thermal stability of the TiZrHf(Ta, Y, Cr) films were investigated. Full article

Background: Agents responsible for the initiation of autoimmune responses are still under investigation. The aim of this study was to determine Nogo-A and NfL levels in CSF samples from newly diagnosed multiple sclerosis (MS), neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) and pseudotumour cerebri (PTC) patients positive for HHV6-A IgG autoantibody. Methods: Initial CSF samples from 42 patients were analysed by ELISA. Independent samples t tests, Mann–Whitney U tests, crosstabulation with Fisher’s exact tests and Pearson/Spearman correlation analyses were used for group comparisons. Results: Anti-HHV6A IgG positivity was highest in MS, followed by NMOSD and then PTC (6.7%), but no significant difference in positivity was found among the groups (p = 0.367). No significant difference was found among the groups for NfL or Nogo-A levels (p = 0.373, p = 0.975, respectively). Anti-HHV6A negative MS cases had lower Nogo-A levels than positive cases (p = 0.046). In addition, anti-HHV6A negative PTC cases had lower Nogo-A levels than positive cases (p = 0.015). Anti-HHV6A positive MS patients had lower Nogo-A levels than the PTC positive group and this difference was very close to significant (p = 0.063). Conclusions: Anti-HHV6A positivity was found mainly in the MS group. Anti-HHV6A was found to be associated with Nogo-A levels, especially in the MS and PTC groups. Anti-HHV6A autoantibodies might play a role in the pathophysiology of MS. Full article

Ujimqin sheep, known for its distinctive multi-vertebrae phenotypes (T13L7, T14L6, and T14L7) and economic value, has garnered significant attention. However, conventional phenotypic detection methods suffer from low efficiency and high costs. In this study, based on a key SNP locus (ABCD4 gene, Chr7:89393414, C > T) identified through a genome-wide association study (GWAS), a TaqMan-MGB (minor groove binder) genotyping system was developed. the objective was to establish a high-throughput and efficient molecular marker-assisted selection (MAS) tool. Specific primers and dual fluorescent probes were designed to optimize the reaction system. Standard plasmids were adopted to validate genotyping accuracy. A total of 152 Ujimqin sheep were subjected to TaqMan-MGB genotyping, digital radiography (DR) imaging, and Sanger sequencing. the results showed complete concordance between TaqMan-MGB and Sanger sequencing, with an overall agreement rate of 83.6% with DR imaging. For individuals with T/T genotypes (127/139), the detection accuracy reached 91.4%. This method demonstrated high specificity, simplicity, and cost-efficiency, significantly reducing the time and financial burden associated with traditional imaging-based approaches. the findings indicate that the TaqMan-MGB technique can accurately identify the T/T genotype at the SNP site and its strong association with the multi-vertebrae phenotypes, offering an effective and reliable tool for molecular breeding of Ujimqin sheep. To fully accommodate renewable and derivative energy sources in mine energy systems under supply and demand uncertainties, this paper proposes an optimized electricity–heat scheduling method for mining areas that incorporates Power-to-Gas (P2G) technology and Conditional Value-at-Risk (CVaR). First, to address uncertainties on both the supply and demand sides, a P2G unit is introduced, and a Latin hypercube sampling technique based on Cholesky decomposition is employed to generate wind–solar-load sample matrices that capture source–load correlations, which are subsequently used to construct representative scenarios. Second, a stochastic optimization scheduling model is developed for the mine electricity–heat energy system, aiming to minimize the total scheduling cost comprising day-ahead scheduling cost, expected reserve adjustment cost, and CVaR. Finally, a case study on a typical mine electricity–heat energy system is conducted to validate the effectiveness of the proposed method in terms of operational cost reduction and system reliability. The results demonstrate a 1.4% reduction in the total operating cost, achieving a balance between economic efficiency and system security. Full article

The problem associated with the manifestation of burnout syndrome is the subject of ongoing interest. In recent years, occupational burnout has been actively studied among professionals in the helping professions (teachers, physicians, social workers, psychologists, prison officers, etc.). However, the phenomenon has been poorly studied among freelancers. Therefore, the aim of this study is to fill this gap by determining the level of burnout syndrome among Bulgarian freelancers and investigate the influence of some work environment factors on professional burnout in the sample. A survey of 1138 freelancers was carried out using the Burnout Self-Assessment Questionnaire developed by Maslach and a questionnaire developed in-house to explore the factors of the occupational environment and ask questions related to socio-demographic factors. Hypotheses are tested using correlation analysis and structural equation modelling. The study reveals high levels of emotional exhaustion (40.91%, n = 484). High values on the scale of depersonalization were reported for 26,3% of the respondents (n = 311). Only 3.1% of the respondents (n = 37) had high values on the reduced personal accomplishment scale. The high levels of burnout among freelancers could be influenced by the specific characteristics of their work environment and the nature of their tasks. Full article

Background: Prebiotics are selectively used by host microorganisms to promote health. Because effective prebiotic doses (1.5–30 g/day) often require inconvenient delivery formats, this study aims to explore whether capsule-compatible doses of galacto-oligosaccharides (GOS) can effectively modulate the gut microbiome. Methods: The impact of Bimuno® GOS (Reading, UK) at 0.5, 0.75, 1.83, and 3.65 g on the adult gut microbiome was assessed using the ex vivo SIFR® technology (n = 8), a clinically validated, bioreactor-based technology. Results: The GOS were rapidly fermented and significantly increased beneficial Bifidobacterium species (B. adolescentis, B. bifidum, and B. longum), even at the lowest tested dose. In doing so, GOS strongly promoted SCFA production, particularly acetate (significant from 0.5 g) and butyrate (significant from 0.75 g). Gas production only mildly increased, likely as Bifidobacterium species do not produce gases. Based on the ability of the SIFR® technology to cultivate strictly anaerobic, hard-to-culture gut microbes, unlike in past in vitro studies, we elucidated that GOS also enriched specific Lachnospiraceae species. Besides Anaerobutyricum hallii, this included Bariatricus comes, Blautia species (B. massiliensis, Blautia_A, B. faecis), Oliverpabstia intestinalis, Mediterraneibacter faecis, and Fusicatenibacter species. Finally, GOS also promoted propionate (significant from 0.75 g), linked to increases in Phocaeicola vulgatus. Conclusions: GOS displayed prebiotic potential at capsule-compatible doses, offering greater flexibility in nutritional product formulation and consumer convenience. Notably, the strong response at the lowest dose suggests effective microbiome modulation at lower levels than previously expected. Full article

Immunotherapy has revolutionized cancer treatment. Despite its success across various malignancies, a significant proportion of patients either fail to respond (primary resistance) or relapse after an initial response (acquired resistance). This review explores the different mechanisms underlying resistance to immunotherapy, including tumor-intrinsic factors such as loss of antigen presentation, genetic, and epigenetic mutations. It also examines tumor-extrinsic contributors, such as immunosuppressive cells in the tumor microenvironment, checkpoint molecule upregulation, and microbiome influences. A comprehensive understanding of resistance mechanisms is essential for improving patient selection, developing combination therapies, and ultimately enhancing the efficacy and durability of immunotherapeutic interventions. Effective energy management in Low Earth Orbit satellites is critical, as inefficient energy management can significantly affect mission objectives. The dynamic and harsh space environment further complicates the development of effective energy management strategies. To address these challenges, we propose a Deep Reinforcement Learning approach using Deep-Q Network to develop an adaptive energy management framework for Low Earth Orbit satellites. Compared to traditional techniques, the proposed solution autonomously learns from environmental interaction, offering robustness to uncertainty and online adaptability. It adjusts to changing conditions without manual retraining, making it well-suited for handling modeling uncertainties and non-stationary dynamics typical of space operations. Training is conducted using a realistic satellite electric power system model with accurate component parameters and single-orbit power profiles derived from real space missions. Numerical simulations validate the controller performance across diverse scenarios, including multi-orbit settings, demonstrating superior adaptability and efficiency compared to conventional Maximum Power Point Tracking methods. In the face of growing demand for food and climate change, ensuring the stability and height of crop yields is becoming a key challenge for modern agriculture. One of the solutions supporting the sustainable development of crop production is the use of certified seed. The aim of this study was to assess the impact of using certified seed on the level and stability of yields of three cereal species: winter wheat, winter triticale and spring barley, in temperate climate conditions. Data came from surveys conducted on over 8000 farms in six agroecoregions of Poland in 2021–2023. The analysis showed significantly higher yields on farms using certified seed for all species studied. Additionally, greater yield stability (lower values of Shukla variance and Wricke ecovalence) was noted in the case of using certified seeds, especially in region IV. This indicates the positive impact of certified seeds (e.g., genetic purity, health, and vigor) on the efficiency and resilience of agricultural systems. This phenomenon is of particular importance in the context of climate change and may be an important element of risk management strategies in agriculture. Full article

As organizations continue to embrace digital transformation, the need for robust cybersecurity strategies has never been more critical. This paper explores the Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) as a contemporary cybersecurity framework that addresses the challenges posed by increasingly interconnected systems. Zero Trust (ZT) operates under the principle of “never trust, always verify,” ensuring that every access request is thoroughly authenticated, regardless of the requester’s location within or outside the network. However, implementing ZT is a challenging task, requiring an adequate roadmap to prioritize the different initiatives in agreement with company culture, exposure and cyber posture. We apply multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA) to evaluate the relative importance of various components within a ZT framework, using the Incomplete Analytic Hierarchy Process (IAHP). Expert opinions from professionals in cybersecurity and IT governance were gathered through structured questionnaires, leading to a prioritized ranking of the eight key ZT pillars, as defined by the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), Washington, DC, USA, along with a prioritization of the sub-elements within each pillar. The study provides actionable insights into the implementation of ZTA, helping organizations prioritize security efforts to mitigate risks effectively and build a resilient digital infrastructure. The evaluation results were used to create a prioritized framework, integrated into the ZEUS platform, developed with Teleconsys S.p.A., to enable detailed assessments of a firm’s cyber partner regarding ZT and identify improvement areas. The paper concludes by offering recommendations for future research and practical guidance for organizations transitioning to a ZT model. Full article

To deliver the most effective cancer treatment, clinicians require rapid and accurate diagnoses that delineate tumor type, stage, and prognosis. Consequently, minimizing the need for repetitive and invasive procedures like biopsies and myelograms, along with their associated risks, is a critical challenge. Non-invasive monitoring offers a promising avenue for tumor detection, screening, and prognostication. While the identification of oncogenes and biomarkers from circulating tumor cells or tissue biopsies is currently standard practice for cancer diagnosis and classification, accumulating evidence underscores the significant role of epigenetics in regulating stem cell fate, including proliferation, self-renewal, and malignant transformation. This highlights the importance of analyzing the methylome, exosomes, and circulating RNA for detecting cellular transformation. The development of diagnostic assays that integrate liquid biopsies with epigenetic analysis holds immense potential for revolutionizing tumor management by enabling rapid, non-invasive diagnosis, real-time monitoring, and personalized treatment decisions. This review covers current studies exploring the use of epigenetic regulation, specifically the methylome and circulating RNA, as diagnostic tools derived from liquid biopsies. This approach shows promise in facilitating the differentiation between primary central nervous system lymphoma and other central nervous system tumors and may enable the detection and monitoring of acute myeloid/lymphoid leukemia. We also discuss the current limitations hindering the rapid clinical translation of these technologies. Full article

This paper presents a geomechanical characterization for unwelded volcanic bimrock materials. Bimrocks are geological materials consisting of blocks of rock of different sizes embedded in a finer matrix. Many volcanic deposits and outcrops can be classified as bimrocks, and some of them correspond to unwelded bimrocks, i.e., with the absence of strong bonds between blocks of rock and matrix. The geomechanical characterization proposed is oriented towards bimrocks slopes, their stability and landslide hazard occurrence. It consists of five steps which includes the material description, the volcanic deposit classification, the definition of block size range, the computation of the volumetric block percentage, the geotechnical characterization of the blocks of rock, and the geological and geotechnical analysis of the matrix that surrounds the blocks. The geomechanical characterization proposed is applied to four slopes at the Western Cordillera of Ecuador, where slopes instabilities are common. Results show that the geomechanical characterization sets a reliable framework for geotechnically describing bimrocks materials, explaining the actual stability state of the slopes. It also enables taking appropriate and optimum decisions in the design and management of volcanic slopes, thus contributing to a sustainable approach of landslide mitigation. Full article

Background: The reliable assessment of cervical muscle morphology is essential for both clinical and research use. However, evidence on the reliability of ultrasound measurements remains limited. Objective: To investigate the intra-rater and test–retest reliability of morphological measurements of the Longus Colli, Sternocleidomastoid, Multifidus Cervicis, and Semispinalis Capitis muscles using musculoskeletal ultrasound. Methods: Cross-sectional area, anteroposterior, and lateral dimensions were assessed using B-mode ultrasound. Anterior neck muscles were scanned in the supine position, while posterior neck muscles were scanned in the prone position. Each muscle was measured three times (to assess intra-rater reliability), which was repeated after 30 min (to assess test–retest reliability). Measurements were also normalized according to BMI and neck circumference. Results: Intra-rater reliability was found to be good to excellent for the Longus Colli (ICC = 0.77–0.92), excellent for the Sternocleidomastoid (ICC = 0.93–0.99), good to excellent for the Semispinalis Capitis (ICC = 0.89–0.97), and moderate to excellent for the Multifidus Cervicis (ICC = 0.69–0.92). Test–retest reliability was found to be moderate to good for the Longus Colli (ICC = 0.73–0.87), good to excellent for the Sternocleidomastoid (ICC = 0.84–0.98), good to excellent for the Semispinalis Capitis (ICC = 0.78–0.95), and good to excellent for the Multifidus Cervicis (ICC = 0.80–0.92). Conclusions: Musculoskeletal ultrasound demonstrates strong reliability for cervical muscle assessment, supporting its clinical use. Full article

Background: Social and financial services are essential for the inclusion and well-being of people with disabilities (PWDs), who often rely on family caregivers to access these systems. In Saudi Arabia, where disability inclusion is a strategic goal under Vision 2030, understanding caregiver experiences is crucial to identifying service gaps and improving accessibility. Objectives: This study aimed to explore caregivers’ perspectives on awareness, perceived barriers, and accessibility of social and financial services for PWDs in Saudi Arabia. The analysis is grounded in Andersen’s Behavioural Model of Health Service Use and the WHO’s International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) framework. Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted with 3353 caregivers of PWDs attending specialised day schools. The survey collected data on demographic characteristics, service awareness, utilisation, and perceived obstacles. Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) identified latent constructs, and Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) was used to test relationships between awareness, barriers, and accessibility. Results: Findings reveal that over 70% of caregivers lacked awareness of available services, and only about 3% had accessed them. Key challenges included technological barriers, complex procedures, and non-functional or unclear service provider platforms. Both User Barriers and Service Barriers were negatively associated with Awareness and Accessibility. Awareness, in turn, significantly predicted perceived Accessibility. Caregiver demographics, such as age, education, gender, and geographic location, also influenced awareness and service use. Conclusions: There is a pressing need for targeted awareness campaigns, accessible digital service platforms, and simplified service processes tailored to diverse caregiver profiles. Inclusive communication, decentralised outreach, and policy reforms are necessary to enhance service access and promote the societal inclusion of PWDs in alignment with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030. A total of 432 participating consumers in Canada, comprising 44% men and 48% women, with a graduate educational background accounting for 46.7%, and the ages between 24 and 35 contributing 75.2%, were part of the study, and the data collection used a survey method with a purposive sampling, followed by a respondent-driven method. Descriptive and inferential statistics were performed on the scales used for the study variables. A structural equational model and path analysis were conducted to derive the results, and the relationships were positive and significant. The study results infer the factors contributing to green real estate purchase intention, including altruistic value, egoistic value, social consumption motivation, and pro-environmental self-identity, with pro-environmental self-identity mediating the relationship. This study emphasizes the relevance of consumer values in real estate purchasing decisions, urging developers and marketers to prioritize ethical ideas, sustainable practices, and building a feeling of belonging and social connectedness. Offering eco-friendly amenities and green construction methods might attract clients, but creating a secure area for social interaction is critical. To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this research is the first to explore the role of egoistic and altruistic values on purchase intention, mainly in the housing and real estate sector, with the target consumers being young consumers in Canada. Pet ownership and wildlife tourism are two prominent ways people interact with non-human animals in contemporary contexts. Despite this, there is a need for further exploration of the interconnections between pets, wildlife, and visitors. Utilizing an ecological-phenomenological framework, this study examines how these multispecies interactions contribute to experiences that extend beyond the human domain. This research is based on a quantitative survey of 1422 participants at the Panda Center that were analyzed using inferential statistical methods to assess differences in visitor experiences. The statistical results reveal that pet ownership and wildlife encounters mediate the environmental affordances and constraints encountered by visitors, creating a dynamic and intricate nexus among pets, wildlife, and tourists. Specifically, pet ownership is shown to enhance both the richness and frequency of wildlife encounters. Nonetheless, the study highlights that human dominance over non-human animals remains a central environmental constraint in multispecies interactions despite the adoption of a more humane approach to animal management through tourism activities. This paper presents a comparative study of data-driven modeling approaches for vanadium redox flow batteries (VRFBs), utilizing Multiple Linear Regression (MLR) and Random Forest (RF) algorithms. Experimental voltage–capacity datasets from a 1 kW/1 kWh VRFB system were digitized, processed, and used for model training, validation, and testing. The MLR model, built using eight optimized features, achieved a mean error (ME) of 0.0204 V, a residual sum of squares (RSS) of 8.87, and a root mean squared error (RMSE) of 0.1796 V on the test data, demonstrating high predictive performance in stationary operating regions. However, it exhibited limited accuracy during dynamic transitions. Optimized through out-of-bag (OOB) error minimization, the Random Forest model achieved a training RMSE of 0.093 V and a test RMSE of 0.110 V, significantly outperforming MLR in capturing dynamic behavior while maintaining comparable performance in steady-state regions. The accuracy remained high even at lower current densities. Feature importance analysis and partial dependence plots (PDPs) confirmed the dominance of current-related features and SOC dynamics in influencing VRFB terminal voltage. Overall, the Random Forest model offers superior accuracy and robustness, making it highly suitable for real-time VRFB system monitoring, control, and digital twin integration. This study highlights the potential of combining machine learning algorithms with electrochemical domain knowledge to enhance battery system modeling for future energy storage applications. Geographical Indication labels are an increasingly popular alternative among producers and governments seeking to protect the products and producers of their countries. This trend has grown due to the opening of markets and consumers’ increasing desire to know the origin of the products they purchase. A bibliographic review was conducted, including studies on the feasibility of applying quality labels, the associated challenges, and examples. This review identifies the processes involved in obtaining Designation of Origin and presents a positive perspective on their application. It was concluded that obtaining a differentiated quality label can improve production and quality of life, provided that it is the result of an evaluation of the area’s context and the main actors in production chains. The kallikrein–kinin system and its B1 and B2 receptors are key regulators in metabolic disorders such as obesity, diabetes, and insulin resistance. Obesity, a chronic and multifactorial condition often associated with comorbidities like type 2 diabetes and dyslipidemia, remains poorly understood at the metabolic level. The kinin B2 receptor (B2R) is involved in blood pressure regulation and glucose metabolism, promoting glucose uptake in skeletal muscle via bradykinin. Studies in B2R-KO mice demonstrate that the absence of this receptor predisposes animals to glucose intolerance under a high-fat diet and impairs adaptive thermogenesis, indicating a protective role for B2R in metabolic homeostasis and insulin sensitivity. In contrast, the kinin B1 receptor (B1R) is inducible under pathological conditions and is activated by kinin metabolites. Mouse models lacking B1R exhibit improved metabolic profiles, including protection against high-fat diet-induced obesity and insulin resistance, enhanced energy expenditure, and increased leptin sensitivity. B1R inactivation in adipocytes enhances insulin responsiveness and glucose tolerance, supporting its role in the development of insulin resistance. Moreover, B1R deficiency improves energy metabolism and thermogenic responses to adrenergic and cold stimuli, promoting the activation of brown adipose tissue and the browning of white adipose tissue. Collectively, these findings suggest that B1R and B2R represent promising therapeutic targets for the treatment of metabolic disorders. Full article

Boron-containing compounds (BCCs) have emerged as potential drugs. Their drug-like effects are mainly explained by their mechanisms of action in enzymes. Nowadays, some experimental data support the effects of specific BCCs on GPCRs, provided there are crystal structures that show them bound to G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs). Some BCCs are recognized as potential ligands of GPCRs—the drug targets of many diseases. Objective: The aim of this study was to collecte up-to-date data on the interactions of BCCs with GPCRs. Methods: Data were collected from the National Center of Biotechnology Information, PubMed, Global Health, Embase, the Web of Science, and Google Scholar databases and reviewed. Results: Some experimental reports support the interactions of BCCs with several GPCRs, acting as their labels, agonists, or antagonists. These interactions can be inferred based on in silico and in vitro results if there are no available crystal structures for validating them. Conclusions: The actions of BCCs on GPCRs are no longer hypothetical, as the existing evidence supports BCCs’ interactions with and actions on GPCRs. Full article
